The process for section views differs depending on what workspace you are working in.
Note: If you complete a section view in the part workspace it will not translate to the 2D drawing.

Section Views in the Part or Assembly workspaces:

At the top of the screen, in the command ribbon, navigate to the tab labeled Viewing and Analysis. Select Section View and the proceed to follow the instructions in the dialog box to select a part and choose the section plane.

Section views created in the part or assembly workspaces are for visualization purposes, and do not persist/generate in Mechanical Drawings automatically.

Section Views in the Mechanical Drawing workspace:

At the top of the screen, in the command ribbon, navigate to the tab labeled Sheets and Views. Select Standard Section View. Like many commands in Alibre Design, there are multiple section view options, so this may also be labeled Aligned Section View, Removed Section View, or Broken Out Section.

Using the drop-down option on this button, you may choose your appropriate type of section and then proceed to follow the on-screen instructions to sketch the sectioning lines / figures before projecting the sectioned view.
